JAMIE PAUL LYNCH, originally from Brisbane, Australia, has been choral director at GC Marshall High School since Fall 2007. He holds a Master of Music in Choral Conducting and Vocal Performance from Ball State University and a Bachelor of Music Education with an emphasis in Guitar Performance from the University of Queensland in St. Lucia, Australia. Mr. Lynch also holds a diploma from the Zoltán Kodály Pedagogical Institute of Music in Kecskemét, Hungary where he studied voice, choral conducting, and music pedagogy.
Prior to coming to GC Marshall High School, Mr. Lynch was a choral director in Prince William County, and also served as a music history instructor at Ball State University. He held the position of Director of Music at Roberts Park United Methodist Church in Indianapolis, IN and is currently the Director of Music at Charles Wesley United Methodist Chuch in McLean, VA. Mr. Lynch is active as a performer, and has sung the roles of "Papageno" in Mozart's The Magic Flute and "Imperial Commissioner" in Puccini's Madame Butterfly.
Mr. Lynch is a member of the Music Educators National Conference and the American Choral Directors Association. He resides in Falls Church with his wife, who is the general music teacher at Freedom Hill Elementary, and their two dogs, Penny and Bluey.
